Overview

--Nearly 5 years experience as a landfill attendant for local government.
--Extensive background in information technology and network development, including technical support to users and hardware installation.
--Designed and implemented dozens of innovative ideas for: workstations, networks, servers and computer usage policies for the library and administration areas of local governement.
--Completed Certificate III in Information Technology.
--Started my I.T career as a school based endeavour which created my passion for the industry.

Achievements

1.  Saved local government excess costs of purchasing new computers and hardware through a third party I.T support company by establishing an account through Dell Computers which saved money because of the large amount of systems to be purchased each time, which also lead to free products/upgrades ie, monitors, printers.

2. Establishing this account also lead to good grounds of communication if anything did need to be replaced or upgraded it was only a phone call away, along with free over the phone technical support it was alot more cost and time effective than the previous company.

3.Completed training in MapInfo and learnt how to modify and update the local government G.I.S System.

4.  Managed Windows 2000/2003 upgrade of 3 servers to specific Symantec security standards.

5.  Improved the performance of administration computers by changing appropriate settings and upgrading R.A.M and Hard Drives.

6.  Established good working relationships by strong communication and good work practices .

7.  Built the R.T.C (Rural Transaction Centre) in the Glenden library, which consisted of a 15 system computer room and server, set-up library officer system to monitor usage, and websites visited by library computer users.

8. Completed GPS and DGPS training, plotted/marked out land parcels and areas for accurate readings and put the data into the local government Mapping system.

9. Completed the Rural Roads Addressing Project, marked out all property entry points along highways and rural roads by posts marked with distance based details of the location in kilometres from the intersection at the end of the road which helped emergency services and members of the public to identify how far away they were from certain areas, in case of an accident. Emergency services can identify how far away the accident is from them and can also be used to help locate an area that is unkown to others, or if there arent any landmarks in that area aswell.

10. Recently started my CQU Steps Program to further my career by obtaining a degree.
