My earlier years up until 2000 I was in sales then hospitality(Chef) that was when I entered the building industry.I started roofing with Cameron Roofing and Construction working mainly on domestic and some small commercial.Within the first two years I was looking after jobs with small crews of four or five.In 2004 I started doing my own work with three employees for about 18 months when I took the oportunity that was offered me and went to Christmas Island to work on the detention centre. My roll there escallated rapidly as I will detail in my work history.After the Island Academy Roofing/Architectural Cladding offered me a position Co managing the Melbourne Convention Centre zinc cladding contract which was a design and construct job with many unique design and logistical hurdles to over come. We did that and our company left with an enhanced reputation. As that job finished I was also working closely with the Hansen Yunken Architects getting the Vic Uni job details sorted ready for construction. I then went back home to Adelaide to get married and looked after six of the government schools projects for Cameron Roofing and Construction over aprox. sixteen months. I was again aproached by Academy Roofing to come back to Melbourne to Project Manage the Melbourne Market Relocation Project over a twelve month period which I finished with at the start of March..

I am 47 and as stated before married to Karyn, we have four kids. I am reasonably fit and of sound health. I love most sport but AFL, soccer and rugby are the mainstays.Don't mind a hit of golf but my clubs are still a better quality than my game.I'm a good cook and wine is a hobby. I am one year into a four year term as a councilor on the Port Adelaide -Enfield Council and am enjoying what it throws up. I have a strong work ethic and my strenght seems to be an ability to communicate well at all levels. With my situation in life as it is DP World would be an interesting direction to head in. I have always enjoyed working with machinery and have had quite extensive experiance with boom lifts (up to 130 ft), scissors, forklift and some telehandalling.I also have had extensive exposure to the implementation and upkeep of the OH&S proceedures of a Multi National company.

We had to over come complex sub-structure issues and program co-ordination due to huge scaffold construction for our panel installation that conflicted with other trades. Atended 90% of weekly co-ordination meetings with Multiplex construction manager. Daily placement of upto 50 men.Ordering of materials ,fixings and machinery. This was a $9m contract

Detailed Description: Started with original team on the island just roofing and cladding until asked to look after individual crews.After a few months was site supervising the job. Academy Roofing were brought in to finish the contract and I was asked to stay on as the Site Foreman with another employee due to our understanding of where the job stood and what was required to finish. I also somehow landed liasing with the home office co-ordinating finding new staff as turnover was high and we had up to 70 people on site.This included all flight bookings and rosters to keep man power at required levels while still giving men there 6/1 on off roster. The remoteness of Christmas Island brought up many unique challanges and with the original contractor going broke it was quite a stressful and emotional job at times. It was a credit to all that the job was finished as well as it was. This was a $15m contract
