I commenced employment with the Royal Australian Navy in 1989, where I gained qualifications in Seamanship, Communications, Frontline management and Work Place Health And Safety.  In 2006 I resigned from the R.A.N persuing a career in the Mining and Civil construction industry. Whilst working in this industry I gained further  experience in Workplace Health and Safety.

After several years in the Mining and Civil Engineering industry I returned to defence on a contract basis in the role of Health and Safety manager for Fleet Support Unit Perth. My duties within this role were varied, and lead to a strong understanding of occupational risk management, safety performance monitoring, incident reporting and compliance under Australian and International standards.

During my tenure within Fleet Support Unit Perth I was also heavily involved in ships maintenance projects as a project safety advisor and as a permit controller.  These roles also required management of safety inductions, liason with external contractors and enforcement of the project safety policy.

I am a consciencious hard working individual looking to continue my career in safety with the right employer.

• In conjunction with engineers, developed a safe method for delivery of confined space training
• Signatory to a ISO 18001 safety system.  Including compliance monitoring and rectifications of Corrective Actions required to maintain the standard
