For the past 12 years I have been working in mainly sales / BDM capacity. I left New Zealand in 1999 to go to London to work. I spent the first few years in London working for Hay Distribution, which was a logistical company for a worldwide furniture store. My main role was customer services. The last two years in London was spent working as a sales executive for a Ski & Snowboard Magazine, I sold all the advertising space within the magazine, 75% of the selling was conducted over the phone and rest was face to face meetings.

After I moved back to New Zealand from London I started work at a start up publication called Homestyle Magazine, the magazine was nationwide and after a few years was one of the top 3 selling magazines within the home and lifestyle genre. My roles at Homestyle magazine were to sell print media space (telesales) and B2B meetings with decision makers, Account Manager and BDM. I have recently left Homestyle to move to Australia to seek out new challenges.

Detailed Description:I sold print media space to a broad range of clients in both SME & Large companies. I would liase with marketing managers, general managers through to administration stafff. I also sold advertising space to a wide variety of business types and industries. For the last three years I sold approx 85% of the advertising space with the magazine and was generating over half a million dollars in advertising revenue per year.

I developed proposals and offers to clients to secure and increase advertising revenue.
Had weekly meetings and communications on current advertising campaigns and pending leads to ensure all relevant clients were contacted. Daily updates into CRM system.
Would periodically review competitor publications and websites for advertising leads. In the role of Business development manager I would generate leads for possible sales, monitor advertising sales performance, provide client service to address any client concerns or questions and make sure any issues were resolved in a timely manner.
I made sure client advertising material had been submitted in time for the production team. I also helped manage the print layout of the magazine and ensured positioning guarantees were adhered to.

Detailed Description:Prospected for new clients in various other competing magazines. Also gathered information on key decision makers before making contact.
