I am a dedicated, hardworking and reliable employee. I understand the importance of goal setting and I work very hard to achieve all my goals. I am always ready for a challenge and will never shy away if something seems 'too hard'. I work very well in a group situation but I also capable of managing a workload on my own. I am approachable, motivating and energetic. It is these three traits that I find very important when it comes to teaching and working with teenagers. I really enjoy my job as a secondary school teacher but I am currently on maternity leave, caring for my 18 month old son.
I completed my Bachelor of Education degree at Griffith University- Mt Gravatt campus in 2003. I was very lucky to be "unofficially" offered a job at Gympie State High School (where I went as a student) before I had even finished my degree as a number of my previous teachers knew what value I would be to the school. I spend two years teaching Physical Education and Drama, coached the junior Cooloola Touch and Netball teams and worked with the organisation of the school "Youth Action Program". I decided that I needed to broaden my experiences as a young teacher and so, applied for a transfer. My trnasfer led me to Kingaroy State High School where I am currently employed. I mainly teach Phyical Education but have had some drama classes along the way. I have also accepted the challenge of teaching year 12 Health Education, year 8 music and junior Art.
I am currently seeking relief teaching work while I am still on leave and would love the opportunity to work at the South Burnett Catholic College.
