After matriculating in 1982 I did 2 years national army service 1983 – 1984.

 

1985 -1988 I did my boilermaker apprenticeship at a sugar industry in Malelane Mapumalanga, my duties comprised of reading of technical drawings, developments, plant maintenance repairs of steel structures and fabrication.

 

I attended the Witbank Technical College 1985 – 1988 my subjects comprised of maths, science, plater/welder theory and technical drawings.

 

1989 I left TSB after completing my apprenticeship as a time served boilermaker.

 

July 1989 I relocated to Kwa Zulu Natal and worked at various construction sites from 1989 – 1992 projects: Mossgas oil refinery, shipbuilding.

 

1992 I got married and divorced 2005 I have 2 sons living with my ex wife.

October 1993 – November 2011 I was employed at Sappi Sacco Umkomaas where I started as a junior operator and worked my way up to senior operator. My duties were the running of the operational sector, 2008 I was promoted to assistant area planner my duties comprised of SAP/PR3 notifications, ordering of material, signing off of notifications, creating and upgrading of bar charts (Gantt charts). The planning of shutdown work for engineers and production managers. The upkeep and creating of legal files, OHSE ACT, internal audits, legal inspections on a three monthly basis on all lifting equipment. Daily meetings with engineers, production managers and maintenance foreman on daily activities and shutdown procedures. Costume reports for production managers and engineers weekly. Inspection and updating of routable equipment. Reading of drawings and liaising with engineers. Updating all plant equipment and stock controlling
