Dayne Voss' Resume
Overview
My name is Dayne, I have a wife and two daughters under three!
I went to school in my home state of Victoria where I completed successfully year 11 in 2001. Since then, with the exception of around three to four months, but not consecutively, I have been working. I have worked with various companies mainly as a storeman and forklift driver, but more recently accepting the role of the Purchasing Supervisor role at Regency Showerscreens.
Although nerve-wracking, and never having had this much responsibility before, this role was offered to me at a time when the company needed me to step up. Not having the experience that would normally be sought for this position, they took a great risk on me, a risk that would prove to be a great benefit to Regency.
After about 3 weeks of on and off training, the reigns were thrown to me. And after about six months of learning the system, learning the processes, and building relationships with suppliers, I began to show results. We, the Purchasing Officer, streamlined many processes by removing many of them, we were able to get our operating system to work for us by automating many processes thus reducing work for the Purchasing Department. I also have reduced total inventory by 50%, and also reduced slow moving and obsolete stock by 60%, and increased the accuracy of our system to become more reliable.
With this role it has taught me how to communicate better in the workplace, how to organise people and their required tasks, how to problem solve faster with better results, and has given me the opportunity to learn the health and safety requirements of our workplace by becoming the Health and Safety Representative for the office as well as being the Deputy Fire Warden for the site.
