I began my career as a primary school teacher anad although i have chosen not to follow this path I have used and developed the skills and knowledge in all areas of my life.
I have been married to Rod for nearly 21 years and we have four amazing children who are the delight of our lives.
I, with my husband have been on the leadership team of New Directions for the past eight years wher I have served in various roles both volunteer and paid.
For the past eight years I have lead the creative arts team consisting of 20 plus volunteers. I have managed this team in planning and organising a weekly service or mini event, including rostering volunteers, planning and running rehearsals.
I have organised the Churches Community Events for the last few years, including the enchanted Evening for 300 primary aged girls. This event won Event of the year from the West Tamar Council in 2009. This event need about 60 volunteers to hold the event and is a night where we as a community organisation can let the girls know that they are of great value and worth.
I was the Event manager for the Tailrace Centre fo 12 months. This involved taking bookings for clients functions, helping the client to plan their event to achieve a great outcome that was all their own and helping to coordinate the function itself.
I have worked on a casual basis in the office using MYOB to input suppliers invoices and paying suppliers. I am also well on my way to learning to complete a payroll.
