Detailed Description:Whilst at SHARPS my day to day duties included working with injecting drug using clients. I would be able to help them in a number of ways including giving advise and referral to rehab if suitable, I would work with a range of clients and deciding what would be the correct course of action/advise for each at an individual level was a challenging but rewarding part of my position. Another regular duty included giving lectures/workshops to local high schools and medical practitioners/nurses. The school based lectures were with a variety of aged groups and varied in content from general Drug and Alcohol information to safe sex and sexually transmitted disease seminars. I had the opportunity to take HIV positive people into school lectures to talk about their experiences and to educate young people about HIV/AIDS.
