I am married to Jacqueline and we have three Beautiful Daughters

I have 26 years experience in the financial world, 6 years in Banking and 20 years in Retail Auditing in South Africa. I started my working career as a Bank Clerk and am proud to say progressed to manage the Internal Audit department at Central News Agency, a Retail company. I then joined the Internal Audit division of Massmart, which is the holding company of Makro, Game and various other Retailers in South Africa and other countries in Africa, I was a Senior Auditor there for a long period. So to summarise I have extensive experience at a Senior/Management level of Retail Auditing from a tiny three-person store to a store of 600 persons. I have managed a whole Internal Audit department and smaller teams in the field. I am particularly strong in "Shrinkage" prevention and control.

I have studied towards a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Witwatersrand, a commerce degree at the University of South Africa and a Auditing Diploma from Technikon RSA. I currently hold a certificate in Basic Book-keeping from Technikon RSA. 

• I have discovered fraud in excess of R 1 million in my career, my teams have discovered much, much more.
• I have developed persons into well-rounded Auditors who have progressed to senior positions in their own right.
• I have successfully audited, on my own, massive Wholesale and Retail companies in countries such as Mauritius, Zambia, Uganda, Mozambique, South Africa and Namibia.
• I assisted in implementing Risk Management strategies at large retail companies in these countries.
• I have mentored individuals to progress from "under" achievers to "over" achievers, in relatively shorts periods.
• I have managed the IT Audit and Retail Audit functions of Central News Agency.  
• Unfortunately I have also had to performance manage some individuals to encourage them to change their career paths or "pursue other interests". 
• I have written numerous Audit reports, from Department Manager up to Chief Executive level and attended Audit Committee meetings.
