Overview
My current position is Queensland and Northern Territory State Manager with Franklyn Scholar, one of Australia’s Largest Private Registered Training Organisations. Franklyn Scholar is a ISO Accredited (Quality Assured) Company with Clients such as Flight Centre Limited, Telstra, Emirates Leisure, One Steel, IGA, BlueScope Steel, Metricon, QR National, P&H and many more. I am responsible for all operations and program development in QLD/NT across 59 qualifications spanning a variety of training packages including; manufacturing, Occupational Health and Safety, business, transport and logistics, retail, tourism and hospitality; this includes AQTF and ISO auditing and accreditation.
I have completed my Masters of Vocational education with dual majors E-learning and Learning Management and will be commencing my Doctorate in Vocational Training / Adult learning in 2012. Within Franklyn Scholar I am the principal education and training expert who, in consultation with other key stakeholders, provides strategic advice on both product development and delivery strategies.
My expertise lies in the development of integrated training solutions which has minimal impact on business operations while providing relevance to the participant and maximal ROI for the client. In order to achieve this I take a consultative approach to the development of all programs and strategies with input sought from all stakeholders so as to provide holistic programs that meet both individual and business needs.
I have a complete understanding of training systems and that the physical training component is only a factor in the process. In just nine months I have managed to triple the trainee numbers in QLD and NT from 570 in April 2010, to 1960 as of September 2011, through Stakeholder collaboration and business engagement. In the process I have increased revenue 383% and gross profit by 371%. By redesigning all processes and systems to take advantage of current technology including tablet PCs, smart phones and internet based databases and reporting systems, the efficiencies have resulted in a 37% reduction in cost of service when factored against training hours completed and a significant reduction in administrative requirements.
I work closely with the National Industry skills councils and the Queensland Workforce Councils for Skills development to align training initiatives to both State and National agendas both current and future. Through my research initiatives, I strive to keep abreast of developments in both vocational and skills training as well as state and federal policy initiatives which impact on both a regulatory and funding perspective.
