My name is Paul and I am 48 years old and am currently working for the Mater Private Hospital in South Brisbane as a Registered Nurse in the Anaesthetic Department. I have been an employee of the MPH since 1985 and have served under five different job discriptions in this time.

I was offered the opportunity to join the staff of the Operating theatres in 1986 as an ODA and have never looked back since. I went on to study Anaesthetic Technology and attained an Associate Certificate before acquiring the role of Senior head AT with many years of anaesthetic experience. More recently, I furthered my studies and gained a degree in Bachelor of Nursing in 2005.

After successfuly obtaining a position on the Perioperative Clinical Transition Program (PCTP) at the MPH, I was encouraged to, and successful in obtaining the position of Level 2 Clinical Nurse for Anaesthetics within the Perioperative area which I held until 2007.

I am currently working full time in Anaesthetics at the MPH after 12 months PT working agency shifts around the greater Brisbane area gaining invaluable experience.
