Overview

What I bring to the table is 29 years experience in Banking and finance during which time I have progress from the lowest batch clerk role to management controlling a portfolio of $120 million in lending.

My belief is that a bank should be involved in the community during my time in Toowoomba I have participated in Meals on Wheels regularly as well as assisted with the Goombungee show as a volunteer.  In the past I have been involved in associations holding President, Secretary and Treasurer roles.

I have completed the required training to meet DCA requirements, as well as tier 3 property lending.

Achievements

During my 29 year career there have been several major achievements

  • I have progressed through to management have handled lending portfolios up to $120M.  Through my various roles I have been exposed to Foreign Exchange through my time with international and as a Forex Dealer in PNG
  • three out of my past five analysts have progressed to mangement and have remained in the organisation
  • I have been able to experience a diverse spectrum of agriculture from small mum and dad lifestyle farming operations to large corporate operations with turnover in the millions

Detailed Description:This role was more diverse than Hughenden with my client base covering a broader spectrum of agriculture businesses. My largest clients ran farming operations that consisted of large scale irrigation, broad acre cultivations and feedlot cattle.

My portfolio peaked at 120 million in lending, like Hughenden St George at the time of my arrival was half way through a 10 year drought, which again brought about utilisation of my lending and communication skills to see them through these difficult times.

During this period I was able to work with most clients however there were times when the difficult conversations were required to be had which required customers to leave the NAB for other financial institutions
