I have served in the Australian Army for 23 years in progressively higher leadership and staff appointments. I am currently the Commanding Officer of an Army Aviation Regiment consisting of 320 personnel, including Defence, contractors and Australian Public Service. I manage facilities, major systems and supplies worth nearly $500 million and service the operational demands of Australia's elite forces. I have led numerous large organisations on overseas service in floods, drought relief and multi-national peacekeeping operations. I lead all aviation elements in the Queensland Flood response this year. I have lead my personnel through significant change associated with the Australian Defence Force's Strategic Reform Programme, including substantial savings associated with the implementation of LEAN.
