During my career I have filled numerous positions that would only be an advantage in logistical employment.
I was the PM shift operations co-ordinator at the Big W Distribution centre at Monarto for approx. four years. In this role I was responsible for the allocation of tasks to members on the shift, also to make sure timelines and expectations were met in regards to work quantity on the shift, to liase between all areas of the warehouse and the shift manager as to productivity levels and also to assist in the training of new staff to the warehouse.
When I left Big W to join the military I was employed as an Air Dispatcher. In this role we dealt with packing air drop loads and then loading/securing them into military aircraft ready for aerial delivery. I then specialised in Road Transport for two years as a Transport Driver. In this role I achieved my HR licence and vehicle mounted crane. I also completed Advanced Road Transport and Transport Managment courses. Part of this process included gaining numerous other competencies including level 2 Dangerous Goods for Road Transport, Vehicle allocations and utilisation.
For the last 18 months in the Army I have filled the role of a Recruit Instructor. In this role I am directly responsible for the training of Army recruits in areas including weapons, drill and fieldcraft. I am also responsible for the administration of up 15 recruits in my section. This role has given me a high level of capability in areas such as communication, teamwork, initiative, confidence and delivery of instruction to name a few.
