I attended Gilroy Catholic College in Castle Hill and graduated with a TER (Tertiary Entrance Rank) of 78.75 for the HSC in 1996. I spent eleven years in the NSW Police Force and attained the rank of Sergeant. I had the responsibility of supervising a team in General Duties in a busy Local Area Command. During my time in the police force I studied at Charles Sturt University and completed a Diploma in Policing Practise.

I studied the investigators course, computer awareness and keyboard skills course, computer office skills course, custody managers course, field teaching officers course, specialist youth officer course, incident and emergency management course, and silver driver training course.

During my time in the police force I gained numerous skills being investigative skills, meeting timelines, team work collaboration, interpreting law/policy, liaising with higher management, punctuality, customer service,  communication skills, OHS requirements, case management, and good analytical skills.

 

I was promoted to Leading Senior Constable in 2007 after having passed an exam and had peer nomination. This enabled me to work and closely monitor newly appointed Probationary Constables from the police academy. I was given the responsibility to work the frontline with them, report on conduct/performance, mentor, and lead.

In 2010 I was appointed the rank of Sergeant after having passed a written exam and one week course down at the police academy. I was in charge of a team of rotating shift workers in General Duties. I had to mentor, lead, guide,develop,report via hierarchy, etc on a team of ten individuals.
