Hello, and you're welcome, in advance. As you waste the next couple of
minutes of your life reading this, image that you actually don’t want
to be a slave to the rat race. You only retain 10% of everything you
learn 10 minutes after you hear or read it. I’m going to start off
with a story and I’m going to ask you a question at the end. So I
suggest you take notes.
A not so long time ago, in a school far far away, a student doing a a
research project on the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Let’s name
him… Matey. What Matey found out forever changed his perspective of
life. He read that out of 100 people that make it to 65, only one
percent are wealthy and 5% are financially independent. 78 percent of
people are going to be on welfare or dead. And the rest? Still
scraping to make a buck. What did this mean to little Matey? This was
a slap in the face wake up call telling him he will have to be still
slaving away at a job forever.
Of course he was like the rest of the sheep, family and peer pressures
forced him to go to Uni and find a career. So he went on this trivial
path just to conform, all along knowing he would probably end up on
welfare or dead eventually. There was too many factors involved: wars,
disease, a big asteroid crashing into the planet, the future was too
uncertain. Matey wanted to enjoy life now, not be a slave and then
retire (if he had enough money) and enjoy life then as a senior
citizen.
Of course he conformed and became materialistic. Bought the car,
house, wife, 2.5 kids; endlessly paying off a mortgage. Day after day
the same old work at the 9 to 5 zombie walk. He told his own kids that
they could be anything they aspire to be, while deep inside he wished
he told them to run off to an island around Thailand and live simple.
Matey never reached 65. He died at 63 of a heart attack in the office
while still at work.
I hope you were paying attention because here’s the question. What was
the color of Matey’s eyes? Don’t know? Do you really even care? If you
knew the answer, you would also know his hobbies and everything else
because YOU are Matey. So you do know the answer and now you have
glimpsed your future. Good luck on that job hunt, mate.
