A number of challenges, thrown out by rapid development in science and

technology has brought about a tremendous progress in the world. The significant

headway in various sectors including product development during last two decades

has taken a gigantic leap due to the use of advancement in technology. Thus the

impact of this technology in Automobile, Aerospace, Marine, Metallurgy and

Power Plants has been phenomenal and has paved off the way for Mechanical

Engineering sector. Thus being interested deeply into the same has pushed me to

this field.

 

The inclination towards technology began from the moment I started studying

science which made me choose mechanical engineering after the completion of

my class X. I completed my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Agnel

Polytechnic in 2005 with 84% in my final year scores and then got an admit

into Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology for my bachelor’s degree.

During my 4 years of Under graduation I was privileged to get my fundamentals

strong specially in subjects like Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass transfer,

Solid Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, CAD/CAM, Design of machine elements,

Mechatronics and Automobile Engineering. I have also had an introduction to

specialized areas like Finite Element Techniques, Enterprise Resource Planning

and Operational Research.

 

TATA POWER is one of the most renowned and largest private sector power

company in India and belongs to the TATA Group. Just after graduation I joined

The TATA POWER Company as an Executive Trainee and this gave me the

opportunity to test by basics in engineering practically. During this tenure I

got to get in contact with latest the technological developments and versatile

personality’s .This inspired me to pursue further for higher studies and thus finalize

on doing my MS in United Kingdom. I believe that by studying in a technological

advanced country like yours, I will be able to further enhance my knowledge with

the opportunity of getting exposure to the latest development-taking place.

It is important and vital to have extracurricular activities as part of your academic

 

life as it brings about an overall development of the student. I actively participated

in social activities like blood donation drives, give a helping hand for the old and

orphan alike. I also actively took part in organizing cultural events for the youths in

our diocese creating a platform to showcase their talents. All these events help me

evolve into a dynamic person due to my commitments

To enhance my knowledge i further went to durham university to study for my masters in design and operations engineering and expect a 2:1 honours degree.

consolidated net profit in the financial year was at 2,059.60 cores INR.Tata Power was into electricity generation from the past 100 years and finds itspower stations in many states of India.Executive Operations • Part of the operation team that looked after the generation of 150 MW and 250 MW Electricity. The entire process of generation of electricity dealt with quick decision making and swift action in a pressure situation which would tackle the emergency situation and provide uninterrupted power to the western grid. My responsibilities also included coordinating with the union cadre members and the management to ensure that the plant was running effectively and efficiently. The other duties involved were:  Training given to the new recruit engineers.  Ensuring the health and safety is maintained in the plant.  To check if 5S is being implemented in the plant.  Perform the switch yard operation in a 110KV and 22KV switchyards
