I completed year 10 at Brooks High School in 1979 ,then completed my boilermaker /welder apprentership at TSB in1984,then worked for Amax Engineering for 6 months before moving to Newcastle to work for BMCH Constructions. Came back to TAS in 1993 and worked for Grant Mawer Engineering for 2 years then to Boral at their longreach plant as a lab assistant / maintenance worker.During this time i completed courses in basic electrical ,fitting 1,2,3  ,plant lubricationfirst aid and fire safety. I have open tickets for wheeled loader, bulldozer, forklift, backhoe/digger and chainsaw. I also have oh/s workplace licence tickets for ewp , full slewing 25 t crane and heavy rigid licence. Since Gunns bought the Boral plant i worked  70/30 machine operator /maintenance fitter. During this time i built my own home and bought a 10yd tipper ,20t excavator and started my own a hrs business ,contracting around the local area. After working for Boral/ Gunns for 15 yrs i took a voluntary redundancy and have spent a few months completing various projects at home.
