Detailed Description:Initially employed on 3 month contract for the development of the institute's new website, my contract has been repeatedly extended as more projects have been taken on.

Detailed Description:As an after-hours project I developed a new e-commerce platform for Harlequin Books which is to be used as a basis for all of their e-commerce websites.

At present the system is used for harlequinbooks.com.au, and in 2012 it will be in use on their other websites millsandboon.com.au and harlequinteen.com.au.

The system is developed in ASP.NET 4.0 (C#) with a SQL 2008 database.

I also set up and configured a Windows Virtual Server for their use.

Detailed Description:SavvyNet is a small all-in-one IT service provider to small and medium business. Services offered include website and database application development, server and network management, and web hosting.

My primary role is as a developer of database-driven websites, web applications and the occasional desktop application using Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET (C#), Classic ASP and SQL Server. I produce hand-coded HTML and CSS from Photoshop files provided by the company's graphic designer. Client-side scripting in JavaScript, cross-browser compatibility and search engine optimisation were also part of most projects.

Development projects included simple brochure-style websites, online stores, ERP systems, customer relationship managers, blogging systems and content management systems. All are developed completely in-house to client requirements.

As a secondary role I am involved in the installation, administration and support of Microsoft file, mail and web servers, and networks. SavvyNet has a small number of clients to whom they provide general IT support and I also provided this type of support over the telephone and on site.

The position involves a large amount of client contact, and I meet and talk with clients over their projects on a day-to-day basis.

SavvyNet ceased operating in February 2011 when the owner took a position directly with one of his clients.

Detailed Description:My main source of income during this period was from trading on the Australian stock exchange.
