After studying computer science, I went into the IT contracting market.  I have in the last 2 years started a number of business ventures but I have always had a passion for designing and developing software.  In order to keep myself up-to-date in the theroy side of the subject I am an external university lecturer specialising in teaching MSC modules in programming patterns, specifically in open source technologies including Spring and Hibernate. 

I consider that one of my best achievements was in designing and developing BT Visions content processing platform at BT Tower.  With very little budget and very little time I managed to put together a very robust and efficient content processing workflow system, that after many years has stood the test of time.

Another achievement was made recently, I have developed 2 seperate and very different applications,  one for the Travel Trust Association project "Honey Comb", which is a travel search and booking web application.  This multi tier architecture using web services is one highly scalable and uses various technologies including Java and .Net. 

Another project is an online recruitment portal called TempsMarket.  TempsMarket will be launched early next year and is a unique brilliant tool for employees and employers bypassing recruitment agents in order to match jobs to job seekers.   Using the open source technologies of Hibernate, Hibernate Search Lucene and Spring I have designed and developed an extremly powerful and what I hope will one day be a very successful enterprize.
