I have been in the workforce for the past fifty years.  My early work featured a career of some twenty-two years in the Royal New Zealand Navy.  Not wanting to consider retirement at this early age, my wife and myself then decided on a business career operating supermarkets in the Central North Island area, starting with a small foodmarket business and progressing to a large "big box" supermarket.  This took place over a twenty year period. After again considering retirement and discarding the notion, the family, which now included my son and daughter-in-law, purchased a "big box" Home Improvement Store. This we operated for two years until the parent company expressed an interest in purchasing the store, which we successfully negotiated.

During the time spent in both the supermarket and home improvement environment, I have had a particular flair for implementing processes and procedures.  Over the past twenty-six years I have mainly been responsible for the successful implementation of Human Resources, Health and Safety and Compliance in each of the stores we have purchased.
