Achievements

TS14+ (May 2007 - Sept 2010)

Increasing store performance in sales from negative to dollar growth.  The resulting success was achieved firstly by improving staff moral through communication and ensuring staff input to the business growth was acknowledged and incorporated. Improving rostering system to ensure that staff strength's were rostered on the correct days.  Refresher training and ongoing training for staff to better understand business strategies as set down by head office with budgets and key performance indicators.  Through these channels and eventual success, staff were empowered in their performance and the realisation of their contribution to the growth and change of the business and that of our clients.  Additonal one on one training for staff to ensure their growth and related areas where strength was needed to be increased.

Attention and awareness of 'hot spots' and 'cold spots' as per visual merchandising to understand its impact on the products.  Continual refreshing of merchandising ensuring a fresh look store and increased interest to our regular client base and new to peak the interest of existing customers and new.  Understanding the surrounding competitors and assisting through team meetings or one on one discussions on ways to 'outshine' our competitors.  Understanding and getting to know local business's to understand market trends.

With these simple and effective tools above, myself and my team achieved an excellent growth to profit climbing from a number 4 grid (within the company) to a number 3 grid earning in excess of $500,000 per year.

These initial changes which led to our successful achievements were due to my 'open door policy' for staff and my leadership abilities and communication which encouraged staff and empowered them within the business and focus on competitiveness (internally and externally) and growth which led to self satisfaction and confidence in understanding more complicated business matters from our head office, such as budgets, key performance indicators, rostering systems etc.
