I am currently working as a laboratory technician/QA in a NATA, HACCP and BRC accredited laboratory of Portavin Integrated Wine services, a wine bottling company in an FMCG environment called the Portavin Integrated Wine Services. I hold a full time two years of work experience as a QA and four years of overall experience in the wine industry.
As part of my work experience, I have received sound training on food safety standards from my supervisor as the company premises follow HACCP and BRC standards. My job required me to perform extensive internal auditing of dry goods, finished goods as well as OH&S policies. I was responsible for maintaining a documentation of all the quality compliance related issues and address them before the management time to time. I worked closely with management, logistics and bottling staffs to make sure the quality standards are well regulated throughout the company. To that end I have developed strong communication and liaising skills with the various stakeholders of Portavin right from understanding the needs of suppliers to coordinating between production and logistics and interacting with client on a regular basis, the most important aspect of my job that demanded compliance of finished goods. As you can see from my resume I was involved in managing internal audit schedules wherein I amended the audit procedures meeting the best quality assurance practices in view. I was applauded to be the most committed person on quality during my annual appraisal meeting with the management held in the last quarter of 2010.My job profile also involved wine sample analysis including microbiological analysis, quality assurance, making chemical adjustments to wine and interacting with clients regarding any adjustment information required.
I have also worked in a team during my job where I have always been cooperative and friendly with my colleagues helping them wherever I could. Apart from that I also could work on my own, e.g, my current job where I work on my own both as a lab technician and QA which helped me to develop multi tasking skills such as looking after laboratory analysis, looking after the quality of product in bottling hall, coordinating between management and bottling line, dealing with customers, ensuring quality of dry goods etc. I always thrive to learn more to benefit both me and my company. I took up the role of lab technician/QA at a time when my company was in need and put my best effort to learn and work on my own in minimum time and supervision. Interacting with clients, management and working in a team environment have helped me develop strong interpersonal communication skills.
