My name is Timothy Adams i have achieved my year twelve certificate, have completed certificate two in hospitality and overall have worked as a hospitality professional the majority in the cairns region, and in the last twelve in months in Western Australia. I Started out working as a porter in the four and a half star Oasis Resort Cairns, while i was completing year twelve. Working my way up to assistant Concierge which duties included booking of tours cars ect, VIP transfers, Hotel Site Inspections amongst countless other jobs. I Stayed there for about two and a half years in which time i completed certificate two in hospitality. This allowed me to understand the day to day runnings of a hotel as i got to work in every department. This included, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Maintenance, reception, reservations and Switchboard. After leaving the Oasis to pursue goals of supporting a small business i saw massive potential in. The Kava Hut was a natualistic bar that sold many exotic Teas, Juices and other Concoctions, promoting products from the south pacific, along with supporting local musicians, festivals ect. I was in charge of day to day runnings of the business, duties included opening and closing of shop, Security, Ordering and cost control, and also promotion and marketing which proved quite difficult as it was illegal to advertise. After the kava hut closed its doors due to a lack of public interest. I worked at Tower coffee and Soho Nightclub doing cooking and bar work. My next venture was working for Brothers Leagues Club Cairns, i started as a food and beverage attendant but quickly got moved into the bar where i frequently was supervisor for shows of one thousand plus. During my tenure i also worked on the gaming floor, where i later moved into promotions where i was in charge of daily drawers, game shows, and general promotion of the club. My next move was to Edge Hill Bowls Club where i was appointed club co-ordinator, duties included general cellar work, stock control, accounts, banking, till reconciliation green keeping and general club maintenace. Next i worked as a porter at the five star Sebel Hotel Cairns. Duties very simmilar to Oasis only alot more Valet parking VIP transfers and tour booking i lonly left as i could not gain full time employment. The Last twelve months i have been in Western Australia Firstly at the King sound Resort Hotel where i was employed as Bar and Resturaunt Manager. This was a live on position where i was in charge of Ordering for both bar and returaunt, Cleaning of Beer Lines, Stock Control and Functions. During my time i also served as a Breakfast and Lunch Short order cook. My last position held was as Resturaunt Supervisor og the waters edge resturaunt in Carnarvon, where i made cocktails, coffees and ran a small knit team doing fifty - seventy covers a night
